Even the sauces are made fresh every few days, in-house, showing a dedication to quality.

A Bit About Novel

Novel was born out of the combined passions of the husband-and-wife duo Rachel and Elliott. They came together with one goal in mind: to create a welcoming third space for their community to enjoy.

To them, this meant delectable sandwiches, endless book recommendations, and fun-for-all-ages events held each month. The store was brought to life with the help of their friends and family, who pitched in on everything from construction to painting to menu tasting and more!

Why We Chose to Open a Book and Sandwich Shop in Rochester

Rachel has dreamed about opening a bookstore ever since she (and, let’s be honest, the rest of the world) fell in love with the charm of You’ve Got Mail. When you add together her love of literature with Elliott’s passion for handcrafted sandwiches, opening a combined book and sandwich shop in Rochester, their home, was a no-brainer.
